Cupcakes are Fun!

Gourmet Caterers loves Springtime.  It is a time of new beginnings and beautiful flowers.  Along with pretty flowers we love Springtime Food.  Cupckaes have to be one of the most fun things to eat in the springtime. 

Gourmet Caterers found this Cupcake Recipe to share with you this week.

Springtime Poke Cupcakes

1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
1 cup  boiling water
1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
1 tub  (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
Red or yellow food coloring
  Suggested decorations: colored sugar, colored sprinkles, tinted BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut, and/or JET-PUFFED BUNNYMALLOWS Marshmallows

Make It

 

PREPARE batter and bake as directed on package for cupcakes. Cool in pans 10 min. Pierce tops with fork.

STIR boiling water into gelatin mix until dissolved; spoon over cupcakes. Refrigerate 30 min. Remove from pans.

TINT whipped topping with food coloring; spread over cupcakes. Decorate as desired. Store in refrigerator.

How to Easily Poke Holes in Cupcakes
Use a meat fork to make the holes in the cupcakes to fill with the dissolved gelatin.

Wow time is flying!

Gourmet Caterers started off 2011 with a busy January.  We spent a few weeks serving Lunch & Dinner   to Nuns and Priests on Sabbitical at the Center for Spiritual Development.  What a blessing to meet such dedicated men and Women.

Gourmet Caterers also provided food for a Fundraiser at  Beth Jacob.  It was a beautiful and suiccessful event.  All were happy with the results.

Gourmet Caterers served Corporate Menus for other satisfied clients during this busy month.

We look forward to the balance of 2010 as a satisfying and successful year.  Call us for all of your catering needs.

Gourmet Caterers has a great weekend!

Gourmet Caterers had a busy weekend.  We started on Friday evening by serving the Boy Scouts of America, Orange County Council at the Newport Beach Sea Base.  Everyone loved the Turkey and Spinach Lasagne.  Our delectable Desserts which included the out-of-this-world Lemon Bars and Chocolate Pecan Slice topped with Fresh Cream.

Saturday morning started with a Bat Mitzvah and ended the day with a Holiday Party in Yorba Linda which featured Heavy Appetizers, a Carving Station, our Delicious Carrot Cake and Lemon Squares. 

Gourmet Caterers also catered a Wedding in Newport Beach.  The food was butler-passed by our team of bistro-clad servers.  Appetizers filled the menu for the guests.

Gourmet Caterers went back to the 80′s!

Gourmet Caterers teamed up with Best of the Best Event Productions last weekend to creat an Awesome 80′s event in Fullerton.  Appetizers were served during the evening.  The bright colors and decor accented the party to make it really Rad.

The Holidays are Almost Here!

Gourmet Caterers is gearing up for the Holidays.  We have a great new menu for the HolidaysCorporate lunches are starting to come in so reserve your date on our calendar.  Here is our menu:

Corporate Lunch Holiday Fare

 Carved Breast of Turkey with Light Herb Gravy

 Cranberry Relish with Fresh Fruit and Nuts

 Stuffing with Apples and Dried Apricots

 Garlic (or Plain) Butter Mashed Potatoes

 Rosemary Roasted Mixed Vegetables

 Mixed Greens with Sliced Red Onion, Tear Drop Tomatoes, Shredded Parmesan, and Caramelized Walnuts, with Tarragon Vinaigrette

Gourmet Caterers had a busy week but outdid themselves again!

Gourmet Caterers had a crazy busy week.  It started with 4 days of Mission & Mentoring for St Joseph’s Health System.  Each day started with a Continental Breakfast with fresh fruit, bagels and a Zucchini Frittata on the second day.  Lunch was wonderful sandwiches and salad with lemon bars for day 1 followed by a deluxe appetizer event to finish off the day.

Day 2 had a Harvest Lunch of Butternut Squash Soup and Asparagus Salad.  It was both a treat for the palate and the eyes.

Friday brought us to do a BBQ lunch for Kerr in Anaheim.  Kebobs and BBQ’d Chicken provided by Gourmet Caterers pleased all the palates on site.

Saturday took us to Temple Beth Tikvah for a Kiddush Lunch and the Best Rugelach served warm from the oven.  Guests feasted on Kugel and Fritatta, frsh Fruit Display, Cream Puffs and Chocolate Mousse Cups.

Quest Diagnostics is Planting Ideas for Growth!

Gourmet Caterers provided the food today for the Quest Diagnostics meeting on Growth.  It was held in Rancho Santa Margarita.  A wonderful Continental Breakfast was served while planting ideas for growth.

Gourmet Caterers out did themselves again with the Indian Food Luncheon.  Decorated with Bright Colors, the buffet provided Chicken Tiki Masala, Vegetarian Curry, Yellow Rice, Saag Paneer, Naan & Riatta.  The meal was finished by a Key Lime Tart.

St Joseph’s Health System Honor Mission & Mentoring Grads

Gourmet Caterers assisted St Joseph’s Health System in honoring its Mission & Mentoring Grads last week.  It was a two day event which celebrated the completion of a year-long course.

The day started with a Continental Breakfast including Spinach Frittata, fresh baked Bagels & Cream Cheese, Fabulous Fresh Fruit and Baked Pastries & Breads.  Topped off by Fresh Brewed Coffee and Orange Juice.

Lunch was an amazing assortment of Salads which provided a light meal for such a warm day.  The day finished with a wonderful reception of appetizers before a dinner of Chicken in a Wine and Hern Sauce and finished by a the Creamiest Chocolate Mousse Cups and Warm Apple Crisp.  We ate until we could eat no more.

Wednesday morning began with Gourmet Caterers providing Egg Salad added to a Continental Breakfast which enhanced the Bagels and provided a good start to the day. 

After all the presentations were completed there were the cutest box lunches with the best Wraps along with Sweet Potato Chips, Fresh Fruit & Chocolate Dipped Biscotti.  We left the event both feeling refreshed and proud of our accomplishments.

Gourmet Caterers would like to provide our Congratulations to all the Graduates and we look forward to providing our great service to the next group of attendees.

Greece comes alive

Gourmet Caterers teamed up with Best of the Best Event Productions a few days ago to creat a visit to Greece for The Colony in Fashion Island.  We served Meditterean food including Spanakopita, Gyros, Yogurt Chicken Kebobs & the best Baklava ever.  The baklava was described as so tasty it will give you an orgasm of your taste buds.

The guests enjoyed the evening while dining pool side enjoying the cool breeze and tasty delights.  There were raves on the decor and fabulous food.
