St Joseph’s Health System Honor Mission & Mentoring Grads

Gourmet Caterers assisted St Joseph’s Health System in honoring its Mission & Mentoring Grads last week.  It was a two day event which celebrated the completion of a year-long course.

The day started with a Continental Breakfast including Spinach Frittata, fresh baked Bagels & Cream Cheese, Fabulous Fresh Fruit and Baked Pastries & Breads.  Topped off by Fresh Brewed Coffee and Orange Juice.

Lunch was an amazing assortment of Salads which provided a light meal for such a warm day.  The day finished with a wonderful reception of appetizers before a dinner of Chicken in a Wine and Hern Sauce and finished by a the Creamiest Chocolate Mousse Cups and Warm Apple Crisp.  We ate until we could eat no more.

Wednesday morning began with Gourmet Caterers providing Egg Salad added to a Continental Breakfast which enhanced the Bagels and provided a good start to the day. 

After all the presentations were completed there were the cutest box lunches with the best Wraps along with Sweet Potato Chips, Fresh Fruit & Chocolate Dipped Biscotti.  We left the event both feeling refreshed and proud of our accomplishments.

Gourmet Caterers would like to provide our Congratulations to all the Graduates and we look forward to providing our great service to the next group of attendees.

Greece comes alive

Gourmet Caterers teamed up with Best of the Best Event Productions a few days ago to creat a visit to Greece for The Colony in Fashion Island.  We served Meditterean food including Spanakopita, Gyros, Yogurt Chicken Kebobs & the best Baklava ever.  The baklava was described as so tasty it will give you an orgasm of your taste buds.

The guests enjoyed the evening while dining pool side enjoying the cool breeze and tasty delights.  There were raves on the decor and fabulous food. 

Gourmet Caterers again out did themselves in taste, presentation and service.

Administrative Professionals get Appreciated

Gourmet Caterers help Quest Diagnostics Appreciate the hard work their Administrative Assistants do to keep their business moving.  Lunch was served with each Admin receiving a Bright Yellow Rose in Thanks for the great job they do.  Gourmet Caterers offered a Spa Basket for a drawing that all participated in.  Much Fun was had by all.  The food was good the decor was in Laker’s colors of Purple & Yellow & the fellowship was over the top.

Quest Corporate Lunch for 1500

Gourmet Caterers did “Lab Day” a huge Corporate Day for Quest Diagnostics for 1550  staff .  It was a huge, but very successful undertaking, not our first one of this magnitude, but it did have it challenges.  Food was made to a Southern Theme, so Fried Chicken was on the menu, this of course had to be done Fresh, but then refrigerated to keep it in the right safe temperature.  The other challenge was that the first lunch took place at 4am.  The staff work in Shifts and they came throughout the day and into the evening.  The menu was Buttermilk Southern Fried Chicken, Macaroni and cheese with sliced mushrooms, Asiago and Provolone cheese, Southern Vegetable Gratin with turnips, lima beans, baby carrots and root vegetables and fresh herbs. We also served Southwestern Corn Bread with roasted red peppers and Parmesan cheese.
Sunshine Spinach Salad with mixed greens and spinach, mandarins, mushrooms and water chestnuts with a light strawberry vinaigrette.  To end it all with a delicious Southern Pecan Pie with Fresh cream.  We got rave reviews.

Gourmet Caterers does Deloittes

75 Guests enjoyed Gourmet Caterers appetizer event, which was held at Deloittes offices in Orange County. It was a fast moving event, with only 30 minutes for the meal, but there was some time in between the seminar for the guests to come and enjoy more food.

They had a very upmarket menu of Honey roasted Lamb, served on a pita chip, with Lemon Mayonnaise and fresh fennel salad. Blackened Red Snapper on Red corn Tortilla with peach relish. Ginger chicken-lime skewers with peanut sauce. Bruschetta with roasted peppers and portabe mushrooms with butternut squash boursin spread. Phyllo pastry triangles with spicy mixed vegetables. Mini corn cakes with citrus salsa. Goat cheese truffles with pistachios and sun dried tomatoes. Sweet potato and ginger roste with chive cream, ending the meal with mini fruit tartlets and choc cups with mousse and maraschino cherries. It was a smooth event, for a great company.

Gourmet Caterers does Quest Diagnostics

What an eventful week it was. Gourmet Caterers had the honor of catering for Quest Diagnostics of Orange County. On Tuesday in two venues, held outside-the weather co-operated, we served 1500 employees, Meat, chicken and vegetarian rice bowls. The first guests arrived at 6am, this was rather challenging, preparing fresh hot food at that time in the morning, and this continued the whole day until 8pm that night. On Wednesday we did the staff with a five year tenor, 200 staff members who chose a tropical theme, the room done out magnificently with all serene table settings, fountains and flowers and candles. They had beef, chicken and vegetarian wraps, served with Black bean and avocado salad, tropical couscous salad, green salad, also a tropical gazpacho soup, tropical dips and tropical chips, specialty cookies, fresh sliced fruit display and tropical punch. Day three was Thursday for the 10 year tenors, event, also 200 staff members, they had a Mediterranean theme, with the same decor as the day before. They had Saffron chicken with apricots, garlic marinated beef kebabs with cucumber yogurt sauce, grilled vegetables, couscous salad with artichokes, chick peas, black olives etc, baby spinach salad with jicama, bacon and Dijon vinaigrette. They had pita breads, and tropical punch. They had a gorgeous dessert selection with chocolate and plain baklava, mini fruit tartlets, mini cheese cakes, lemon bars and a selection of petite cookies. All in all it was a great week.

Gourmet Caterers does Pesach

With Pesach around the corner, we at Gourmet Caterers are getting ready. We provide an order form, where individuals can order seperate items, or the whole Seder meal can be ordered. We also cater large Seders at Synagogues and for large groups of people. Some of our delicious food items this year are Chopped herring and chopped liver, crispy meat blintzes, Matzo ball soup, a large array of fish dishes, brisket dishes, chicken, and sides like potato pudding, kugels, vegetable tzimmes, grilled vegetables. Our dessets are really good this year, fruit mousse in meringue shell, maple walnut espresso torte and other cookies and meringues. So call us soon to get your order form.

Gourmet Caterers and HSBC Bank

Another successful party catered by Gourmet Caterers at HSBC bank. Food with an Asian, American and Indian themes. All stations decorated to each country. Menu was Ahi tuna on wasabi chips, ginger chicken skewers with peanut sauce, bruschetta with roasted peppers and portobello mushrooms, with butternut squash boursin spread. Beef empanadas and mini corn cakes, curried eggplant tartlets, vegetable samoosas, carrot cake and fruit tartlets. All guests served by our professional catering staff.
